The Special Fund for Children, created through an endowment and increased through donations and bequests, provides essentials such as clothing, medicine, tutoring, and school supplies for the at-risk students in the County. During 2006 - 2007 school year, the HCEF Special Fund for Children fund provided $600 per school, a total of $15,000 to Henderson County Schools, plus $3,000 for the "Second Start Program" at Balfour Education Center.

Local support has helped HCEF continue to increase the amount of the Special Funds each year. During the 2007- 2008 school year, HCEF would like to increase these funds to $1,000 per school.

Fifty (50%) percent of the BOGO II COUPON BOOK SALES goes directly to the HCEF's Special Fund for Children. The remaining 50% of sales goes to support HCEF programs like the Creative Teaching Grants. which are discretionary funds to Henderson County schools and with your continued support we can do more.
