The Special Fund for Children, created through an endowment and increased through donations and bequests, provides essentials such as clothing, medicine, tutoring, and school supplies for the at-risk students in the County. During 2008 - 2009 school year, the HCEF Special Fund for Children fund provided $700 per school to 22 schools for a total of $15,400 to Henderson County Schools. A total of $6,900 in funding has been provided to date during this fiscal year (2009 - 2010).
