Orr taught for 32 years at HHS, earning the regional Teacher of the Year Award for the mountains twice, in 1975 and 1986. After retiring as a teacher, Orr served as county School Board chairman from 1994 to 1996, headed the Foundation from 2002 to 2004 and started the Hall of Fame in 2002.
